"Let's Roll."

Did you know that Todd Beamer said "Let's roll" on September 11th, 2001? He said it just before he and the other passengers of United Flight 93 attacked terrorists that had hijacked their airliner. United Flight 93 crashed in a Pennsylvania field. The White House is believed to have been the terrorists' target.

How does this pertain to me? Well, every time I cook it's like I'm saying, "Let's roll," and off to battle the kitchen and food in a vast, epic battle to concoct something to eat that may or may not end badly. After a month and 14 days of marriage, I haven't failed too badly at cooking--yet. I've made some original AND tasty things: Two tomato soups, my mom's soup, chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, filet mignons and some other things.

But what I've failed at cooking has been relatively easy things like mashed potatoes, omelets and waffles. I accidentally poured the potatoes down the sink when I was draining off water and the waffles stuck to either side of the sandwich/waffle maker and cooked funny.

I don't remember exactly about the omelets. I think I just cooked them too long for the veggies and tasty things to be cooked into the omelets, so it was like an egg tortillas.

My husband Drew does cook regularly and help me often with cooking. Luckily, he's not like a lot of guys and actually cooks and helps around the house. I haven't become his maid...yet.
