Favorite Channel, HGTV = House Shows!

So my favorite channel is HGTV, which is all house related. I refer to it as the house shows. So what's on HGTV channel? Here's the short version:
Unmarried couple/single person/rare married couple want a house with granite, hardwood floors, no carpet at all, and are very picky. Couple/single person has to settle for less and still end up spending over 300k.
Same thing for international house buying PLUS they want to be by the beach or village if there is no beach. They end up spending 500k-1 mil.
Or they already own a house and want to redo it by redecorating or adding a rent-able apartment that will rent for $1000-1300 a month.
On the rare occasion, very minor variations occur.

Wife Swap

I've become slightly obsessed with watching Wife Swap the last week. It's interesting seeing polar families trade wives and see how they get pissed, offended, their perspectives changed and take away something from each episode.

A couple of episodes have reminded me of my parents.

Painting Shows are No More

I really want to know what happened to all the painting and drawing shows. There's none on TV anymore. I'm awake at all hours and have cable, so I know these things. PBS used to have painting shows. Now all there is are decorating shows, how to dress shows, a couple of craft shows and tons of cooking. I like cooking but I don't like to watch it except once in a blue moon.

I want a show about painting a painting! Landscapes, people, anything but walls and furniture!
