Thank you, God!
After over two years of headaches, heartaches, lapses in sanity, poorness, mounting debt, unemployment, under-employment, hospital stays, surgery, and dependence on family to survive---My husband has a full-time job that can pay the ALL bills!
Drew and I were married on Saturday, June 13th of 2009. I was laid off a month before our wedding and had two small blips of a job in the last two very long years. We have struggled financially until we could do no more on our own and had to accept help from family. It has been utterly maddening.
Today was his last day as a part-time supervisor with UPS. Tuesday he starts his new job. It will make a little over $31,000 a year. To us, this is a fortune. It covers all the bills, will allow us to get a bigger apartment, save, pay down our debt, get Netflix back, buy better food, tithe, get a washer and dry, and do something fun occasionally.
No more agonizing over "we don't have the money." No more borrowing or taking money. No more mental stress of "I need a job!" or "Drew needs a better job!" No more wondering who will watch the baby if I'm working. No more guilt about not working or staying home with the baby. No more blaming and beating myself up over not being able to get a job. No more feeling utterly lost.
Yeeeeaaahhhhhhh, good feelings.

Scary Nutcase
NOTE: Facebook note posted Monday, August 31, 2009 at 7:05pm. Real story actually happened to me.
Okay, I was talking to my friend on the phone today. My married friend with two kids was having a garage sale in front of her trailer while her mom watched the kids inside. This weird lady showed up. The lady was walking around and acting very strange. She went to her car for a long time and my friend thought she left.
After awhile she came back. She went up to my friend and asked if my friend lived in her trailer alone (creepy, stranger danger!). My friend told her no, that she lived there with her husband and two kids. The lady then started talking about how her husband and her wanted a baby and had tried in vitro fertilization. They used up all their money on it.
The lady gave my friend a card with a phone number on it and told my friend if she knew anyone who was pregnant and wanted to GIVE AWAY their baby to have them call that number. The lady completely weirded out my friend and she was glad her two little kids were inside with their grandma. My friend told the creepy lady that she didn't know anyone.
The lady left, and now my friend is going to call her police friend and see if he can do anything to make sure a crazy lady can't show up and steal her kids (I think one is almost 2 or 3 then the other is almost 1). This could be a real danger. She does have 9 dogs (of all shapes and sizes) and a huge husband that are kept close by at all times, but this woman sounds like one of those real deranged nutscases who stalk women and kill them, cut out their babies and pretend it's theirs.
Scary!

The Good | The Bad
NOTE: Facebook note posted Monday, May 9, 2011 at 5:36pm.
In spite of all the things happening to me and my family lately, I have so much to be thankful for; Situations turned out better than expected, no lives were lost, and everyone is doing just as good as before or getting better everyday.
Yet the good in my life is strikingly contrasted by old friends I have spoken to over the months. Bad decisions piled on top of bad decisions. It grieves me to know they have little desire to make better choices or to step up to be the better man/woman that they need to be---for themselves and for others who get caught in the situations their bad decisions bring on.

Charli Fae Nimmo - 8/10/10 at 6:38pm, 5lb 9oz, 19.5in by Carol Nimmo on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:57pm
NOTE: Actually I posted this to Facebook as a note on Wednesday August 11, 2010 at 11:57pm. Posting here for memories.
Labored for over 48 hours on 1 hour of sleep. Midwife caught the baby's heartbeat dropping after contractions to as low as 65-ish when normal range is 120-160. Suspected that the baby was on the cord and cutting off circulation, they had me lay on my right side which mostly prevented any heart drop. My blood pressure spiked to 150/110.
Transferred to Medical Center of Plano around 11am, 8/10. Due to baby's condition was forced to labor on right side to keep the baby's heart from dropping after contractions. Ruptured amniotic sac because of my fatigue and discovered thick soupy meconium (poop) in amniotic fluid. Hooked up monitor for baby heart rate and started flushing out womb with saline to clear out meconium (state of the art medical stuff). Monitored for about an hour without drugs, then got an epidural due to exhaustion and to help things relax to progress dilation along. Monitored the baby longer which continued showing dropping heart beat, meaning baby in distress. Heart patterns showed mostly flat heart beat, indicting baby in distress and freaking out.
After four hours, no dilation change. Based on baby's heart distress could not give any pitocin or any medicine to dilate further without hurting the baby. Doctor flat out said the only option left was an emergency c-section. We discussed it and came to the same conclusion that this was the best thing for the baby.
Fast forward an hour later. Anesthesiologist says to Drew, "You want to watch her come out?" And so Drew looked and the doctor was about wrist deep inside my belly. A little bit of squirreling around and pulls out the baby! Baby was covered in meconium, but that wasn't the worst part. Baby was wrapped up in the cord in a way that it criss-crossed her chest and wrapped around her neck. From the way she was facing, she was probably laying on the cord where it crossed itself and it probably held her in place, preventing dilation and any sort of progress.
They took her over to be cleaned off. Wiped off the meconium off her skin, deep suctioned her nose and mouth, then pumped her stomach. Her stomach was full of meconium... They listened to her heart beat and breath sounds --- and were amazed that she had not aspirated anything (even though she was screaming and gurgling through the meconium in her mouth when they brought her out).
And the whole time exhausted Carol was nearly falling asleep during the whole c-section. She only saw baby for a few seconds when Drew brought baby over to let Mommy see before Daddy and baby went to the nursery for a bath.
After baby got cleaned up and Mommy got stitched up and sent to recovery, Daddy brought Baby Charli to Mama to hold her for the first time. Mommy got to hold baby for the first time and eventually let grandparents, aunts, and uncles take turns.
Problems Charli has had since then is drainage in the back of her throat, can't regulate body temperature due to her small size, and having trouble breastfeeding. Nursery was worried about her peeing and pooping. Charli just has one pee diaper after 24 hours, but they said that was fine. Biggest issue is her temperature. She's now in an incubator in the nursery to keep her warm while she sleeps. Breastfeeding improving with every attempt, so hopefully she'll put on some good fat and be able to regulate her body temperature.
Mommy is doing fine, except for the "evil nurses" taking away her baby. Probably will leave hospital on Friday.

I hate titles. I hate blogs. I hate everything. Give me attention and love!!!!! ;_;
Removed all my blogs except this one. Don't care. I hate blogs. I like websites. Back in the day I had a dozen Pokemon fansites that I made on Angelfire.com. Those were the good ole days. Wrote Pokemon fanfiction, read Pokemon fanfiction, found more Pokemon fanfiction, played Pokemon and wished it was like fanfiction, drew Pokemon, made up my own Pokemon, roleplayed on AOL and AIM with Pokemon AND Dragonball Z characters, never had any real friends offline, always excruciatingly lonely...
Okay, so it was NOT the good ole days. There were bad days--many, many bad days. Lots of crying due to loneliness, low self-esteem, poor self-image and body image, crippling worry over what others thought of me and my actions, nonexistent relational skills, impatience, arrogance, hormones all over the place, depression...
It sucked.

It's been awhile
You don't want to know what I've been doing. It's boring, but I did rename all my blogs with zombie related names. Mmmm... Brains....

Ugh, re-reading posts on here. Boring. No wonder no one likes my blogging. I don't even like my blogging.
Let's see. My spawnling is 9 1/2 months old now. Cute little booger. We didn't get along very well until about 2 weeks ago. I attempted to take 4 college courses online and the stress of that with the stress of a baby didn't go well.

Fa la la la la---la - la - la
So apparently, this fall my body has turned against me. It let my long time enemy have greater influence over me. My allergies have a reached new summit of power. It can put me in my place for days. I can now be completely nauseated, feverish, chilled and messed up everywhere my snot flows and touches in my body. I can have weird static sounds in my ears (which hurts them), my throat can be blazing red and my tonsils swollen and pissy. So much fun! Riveting!
I want more meds or just find a cave and sleep until summer comes. That sounds nice.
On another note, me and my husband are still quite in the Christmas spirit despite having no presents under our tree, very few under my parents' tree, getting nothing from my older sister --- she's about to have her baby any day now --- and my husband's parents aren't getting us much either.
But---
But, but, but, but... We are still in the Christmas spirit. We do not care for our lack of gifts. We are in a place of zen and happiness and completeness during our first year of married Christmas. We see the Salvation Army volunteers at Walmart and we're like, "Awww, let's give them money." And we'll chip in a couple of dollars to the good cause of bringing Christmas and the holidays and heartwarming times. We hardly have a couple of dollars to chip in. Being all poor newlywed-like and such. Our poorness has caused me to revert to making Christmas presents for my family and friends. I'm sure what I make will be heartfelt and cherished forever, but still.
Yes, our Christmas this year will be one where we go over to our parents and see family, hold hands and sing the Whoville song around a bare tree. And we'll hold up the new grandbaby like Simba in Lion King and sing the Whoville song more. Then I'll pass out my homemade gifts.
This Christmas will be wonderful!!! :D

Tuesday!
My older sister is due Tuesday with her first baby, the first grandbaby in the family. We're all excited and pitching in to help her out with things. We're all also texting her asking her if she's in labor yet and sending her sonogram pictures with the caption, "Mommy, let me out!"

At Home
At my parents' house and Daddy is playing music for us. If you know my daddy, you know that he converted the garage into a media room. He's music and audio freak, in a good way (overall). His music has so much feeling and texture to it because of how he has tweaked his stereo equipment. He has been obsessed with music since he was a teenager. He's 53, so he's been obsessed for about 35+ years.
My dad has always been very articulate and that seems to have transferred over to his love of music and stereo equipment.. He wants every little thing in the music to be clear, audible and in place. He doesn't just want music. He wants the music to play and you be able to hear where the musicians are standing, be able to visualize them in front of you just by sound, hear the plucking of the strings and all the "intricacies." He can do very, very well with just two speakers on either side of the room.
My dad never has had any lessons to play an instrument, but my dad can play the piano by ear. He doesn't do it very often, so I don't know how much he can actually play by ear. He's always done fine when he's tried.
Anyways, it's very refreshing to hear some good quality music on his awesome stereo setup. I'm bored with my music and the radio... sucks mostly.

Coast Guard, Vacation, Church
Ritz crackers taste good with lemon supreme icing and milk.
My older brother is considering joining the Coast Guard. I don't think anyone in my extended family or cousins has been in any kind of service to the government (aside from my husband's side). My parents weren't too thrilled, but are going to talk to him about his options today.
He is on suspension from his job and can't afford to not be working. He lives alone and has some bills. He has some direction that includes finishing up his associate degree next semester, but he doesn't want to move back home and if he joins the Coast Guard he needs to decide if he is going to join soon. They don't take anyone over 27. His birthday is in a few months.
My husband Drew is on vacation until Monday. We've been sleeping in and watching too many movies (Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!!!). It's been nice actually being able to go out and do things. It's going to be lonely next week when he goes back. I'll go into shock for a few days because of being lonely.
A happy note, we're going to church Sunday and starting the fun adventure of finding our own church to go. We'll be realer adults! Yay!

Yay!

Job?
I'm in consideration for a job at a local college's police department. I'll get to pistol whip students! ...with paperwork and telephones! Because the position is for an assistant in the office. Yeah! Hardcore!
The lady in the office is supposed to call me back sometime this week with the results. I'm hoping hard. I really need a job and the library never called. If I get this job, it's fulltime and pays about 1400 a month before taxes. It also gets a ton of benefits and I could move around campus to other positions possibly.
Right now it's 1:15am and we left the door open with the doggy gate to keep the animals in. It feels nice tonight. I might try this more often since it's pleasant and would help the AC bill. We managed to get our bill from 130 last month to 103 this month by keeping all the lights, except one, off and keeping the AC around or above 80. It sucks and once I get a job I'm keeping it lower and leaving another light on! I get tired of the dark.
I'm about ready to play me some Half-Life 1 and chill out for a few more hours before I head to bed.

Sick sister-in-law
My sister-in-law went to the hospital very early Sunday, so I've been a tad busy. She's not doing too well. She has blood in lungs and her lungs are leaking air. She has a serious ear infection and her kidneys aren't functioning very well so she's on dialysis. The doctor's don't know what's wrong with her yet. I'm planning to make her husband and anyone staying with him at the hospital some home cooked food and take it to them.
I so need to go to bed. I have a job interview at 1pm today and it's almost 7am. Sigh.

Family Fun
My parents' and little sister's idea of a vacation is to go stay a night or two at a nice hotel. They like to go swim in the pool, try out the exercise equipment, look around at the way the hotel is decorated, order pizza and watch TV and movies. I don't always like this, but it is fun when you get most of my family together (both sisters, little brother, parents, me, one or more of the husbands). We all have a good time and enjoy being together.

My dad and little brother
They like to do this for EVERY vacation since they've gotten older. It gets a little old since my dad has like +6 weeks of vacation each year. But now I'm old and married. I get to choose where me and my husband go vacationing! Muwhahaha.
For our honeymoon we stayed at the Mognolia Hotel in Dallas then went to Galveston to see the ocean and play at the beach. Our trip was fun. It was the first time for me to be that far away from my parents and be completely on my own (with my husband, but still).
Yeahhh... Good times. I already want to go on vacation again.

I don't care if Monday's blue. Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too.
My mother-in-law D'ann gave me a bunch of yarn and a how-to book on crocheting since I told her how bored I am with no job and nothing to do. She also offered to buy me a crochet hook set, but I got the biggest hook I could find at Walmart for about 1.50 by myself. I can swing a buck fifty. Now I'm trying to crochet pot holders. They're something easy and quick to do so I can stare at them and go, "Look at what I made!"
I was bad this morning and skipped my doctor's appointment. It was at 11am and I usually sleep after 2pm. To get to the doctor on time I needed to get up at 9am. Well, it didn't happen. I slept til 4pm instead until Drew tried to bribe me with coffee to get up. It worked and he had to go to work in another 30 minutes.
After Drew left I bleached and cleaned the bathroom and kitchen for the next 5 hours. I cleaned all the dishes, the floors and this really gross brown gunk that was between the stove drawer and the drawer handle. It looked like dirt and I could scoop it out with a toothpick. There's more still there but I couldn't get it all without taking the handle off.

"Are you not entertained?!"
Okay, I'm digging the banner I made in Photoshop. It took a few hours to make and I don't use Photoshop very much so part of that time was spent figuring out the program again. I haven't made a banner for my other blog about newlywed cooking. My husband said he would try, but I might beat him to it.
Monday I have a job interview with the library. Hopefully it goes well and I'll be re-employed. It's pushing my sanity being home by myself for hours. We're broke and gas is kind of expensive again, so traveling and adventuring around town is kept to a minimum. Instead we made a trip to two libraries and got a stack of books to entertain us. The four that I read we're good, but I've started re-reading the Thief trilogy by Megan Whalen Turner. It's been nice reading them again. I didn't understand how the first book fit in the series when I read it. I thought it was an alternate universe. Apparently I wasn't paying attention the first time...
Right now I have a movie on called The Color of Magic. It's an interesting, clever movie. The actor who plays Sam from Lord of the Rings is in it. The library has the book so I shall get that the next time we hit the libraries.
